Empowering Roma Communities (2010)

[20:04 - Romanian with English Subtitles]  This video from the “Impreuna” Agency for Community Development is about the project “Empowering Roma Communities to Influence and Monitor Local Agendas.” The project, implemented by Impreuna with World Bank–administered funding from the Japanese Social Development Fund, was carried out over two years in 103 of the 123 most impoverished Roma communities identified in 2005 by the World Bank and the Romanian government. The goal of the project was to help Roma communities identify and voice their own priorities and to support them in their efforts to become true partners in local planning. The participating nongovernmental organizations undertook a variety of local projects based upon the needs of their communities.
