The Decade of Roma Inclusion Secretariat Foundation in Budapest announces a three-month internship for Budapest-based Roma university graduates from Decade member countries. Applicants from Moldova, Ukraine and Turkey may be also considered.

for Roma university graduates who are currently based in Budapest
 
The Decade of Roma Inclusion Secretariat Foundation (Decade Secretariat) is pleased to offer a three-month internship opportunity starting from February 15, 2010 for Roma university graduates—who are currently continuing their studies in Budapest—from the member states of the Decade of Roma Inclusion 2005-2015.
 
Member states of the Decade of Roma Inclusion 2005-2015 are Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Spain.
 
Applicants from Moldova, Ukraine and Turkey may be also considered.
 
The objectives of the internship are:

·          to provide a framework by which graduate and post-graduate students may enhance their education experience through practical work assignment;
·          to increase the intern's understanding of the Decade of Roma Inclusion 2005-2015 program at the international level and give an insight into the work of the Decade partners;
·          to provide experience with the work and functions of the Decade Secretariat;
·          to enable the Decade Secretariat to benefit from the assistance of the intern. 

Preferred profile of intern:

 
·          graduate or post-graduate student of Roma origin, from any of the Decade member states and potential candidate countries (listed above), who continues his/her studies currently in Budapest
·          candidates should be committed to advancing Roma issues in the priority areas of the Decade such as education, employment, housing and health as well as cross cutting themes of discrimination, gender and poverty
·          preference is given to candidates with work experience in public administration or civil sector
·          excellent knowledge of spoken and written English, solid knowledge of Romanes is an asset
·          good computer literacy
 
The internship comprises the following activities:
 
·          reviewing all relevant information and documents related to the Decade of Roma Inclusion 2005-2015 to acquire basic understanding of the framework of the program and the strategic policies
·          assisting the Decade Secretariat in maintaining close contacts with the Decade partners;
·          assisting in organizing Decade events
·          assisting in analytical work and information collection
 
Working conditions:
 
·          Decade Secretariat is not able to provide and pay accommodation, arrange visa and health insurance for the intern
·          Relevant infrastructure (office space, computer, etc) is provided by the Decade Secretariat in its premises

The internship grant:
 
EURO 500/month for daily subsistence
